Meditation is a mental discipline which enables us to use the creative and sensitive centres of our brain without the hindrance of the intellect, which normally controls our attention. It is a tool which has many uses – relaxation, self-awareness and spiritual awareness are just three; and, each of these in turn has its own facets and benefits.
There are many forms of meditation – breathing,
visualisation, chanting etc. and often one form is combined with another but whatever the purpose of my meditation I always begin with a simple breathing meditation to take my attention from the chatter of my thoughts and to relax. .
